PURPOSE STATEMENT

Our purpose is to advance the needs of rodeo committees by developing a more positive relationship with PRCA.

The Association of Rodeo Committees was organized to ensure the rodeo committee and producers (who have substantial investment and financial risk in sponsorship of Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association sanctioned rodeos) are provided an effective, influential, and independent voice in the management and evolution of the sport of professional rodeo.

ARC is dedicated to the members' common interest of building successful PRCA rodeos through the sharing of knowledge and experiences.

Member rodeos strive to create entertaining rodeo performances while maintaining the historical integrity and reputation of the sport. They also strive to ensure an equitable compensation of the form of prize money to contestants and remuneration to contractors and contract personnel.

To accomplish its purpose ARC retains informed and experienced rodeo and business consultants to advise and serve the needs of the members and to intercede and interface with the PRCA on behalf of the members.

The Association of Rodeo Committees was formed in 1979 when several leading PRCA sanctioned rodeo committees determined that they could improve their events by sharing information and presenting a unified position to the PRCA. For over 15 years the members of the ARC have successfully complimented one another.

ABOUT US

Through the efforts of ARC, in 1986, the entire sanctioning structure for PRCA rodeo was revised to provide a new more equitable management system. ARC members joined together to shore up a collapsing PRCA by negotiating a restructuring of the PRCA and gaining greater representation for the business elements of the sport - the rodeo committees and the stock contractors. ARC was responsible for the creation of the position of Commissioner of the PRCA as well as outside business directors. Although ARC planted the seed for revitalizing the PRCA, the harvest of the benefit to rodeo committees is still in the growth stage and the results not yet totally forseen. Some further recommendations by ARC may be required in order to fully realize the benefits from the reorganization of the PRCA.

ARC is guided by the Board elected from rodeo members across the spectrum of rodeos. Representation as from the large stock shows to the local community rodeos. "For profit" and "not for profit" events are included as are the rodeo stock contractors who produce rodeos.

A key function of ARC is personalized attention to the individual concerns of the member rodeos. Michael Mentaberry is the Executive Director. Michael will provide a knowledgeable response to the inquiries and requests for assistance.

Administratively, ARC operates from 6121 Lakeside Dr., Suite #100, Reno, Nevada 89511.
